These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "your") and AltScan ("AltScan", "we", "us", "our") governing your access to and use of the AltScan verification service, including its website, API endpoints, Discord bot integrations, and any associated features (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing, using, or completing a verification through the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any provision of these Terms, you must discontinue use of the Service immediately.
We reserve the right to modify, amend, or update these Terms at any time and in our sole discretion. Amendments take effect immediately upon posting to this page, and the "Effective date" above will be revised accordingly. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of amended Terms constitutes your affirmative acceptance of the changes. It is your responsibility to review these Terms periodically for updates.
AltScan provides Discord account verification and community member-management infrastructure. The Service facilitates, among other things: (a) identity confirmation through Discord's official OAuth2 authorization framework; (b) automated addition of verified users to participating Discord servers that they elect to join; (c) live-entry tracking for giveaways and promotions hosted by participating communities; and (d) aggregate statistics regarding community growth and engagement.
The Service operates as an intermediary between Discord users and community administrators. AltScan is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Discord Inc. in any manner beyond being an independent operator of applications on Discord's platform. Any reference to Discord, its products, or its trademarks is for identification purposes only.
To use the Service, you must: (a) possess a valid Discord account in good standing that is not currently flagged, limited, or terminated by Discord for violation of their Terms of Service or Community Guidelines; (b) be at least thirteen (13) years of age, or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher; (c) have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement under applicable law; and (d) comply at all times with both these Terms and Discord's own policies.
Verification is limited to one entry per Discord account. Creating multiple verifications through duplicate accounts, alternative accounts used to circumvent server rules, or accounts obtained through fraud may result in termination of access to the Service and disqualification from all associated promotions.

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and suspend or terminate access unilaterally where we reasonably believe a breach has occurred.
From time to time, participating communities may host giveaways or promotions in which verified members receive entries. The following conditions apply universally: (a) verification entries have no monetary value and constitute neither currency nor consideration; (b) odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible verified members; (c) winner selection, prize fulfillment, and dispute resolution are handled solely by the hosting community's staff, not by AltScan; (d) AltScan provides no warranty, express or implied, regarding prize quality, availability, delivery, or fitness for purpose; (e) prizes may be substituted, modified, or events cancelled at any time without liability; and (f) void where prohibited by law.
Entries obtained through fraudulent means — including but not limited to bulk account creation, token manipulation, or exploitation of technical defects — are void, and associated accounts may be permanently disqualified from future promotions and the Service itself.
The Service, including but not limited to its source code, architecture, design, layout, graphics, logos, text, documentation, and brand identity, is and remains the exclusive property of AltScan and its licensors, protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for its intended purpose.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, decompile, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source of any component of the Service except to the extent expressly permitted by law. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved. Your Discord account, content, and underlying rights remain exclusively yours; you grant us only the limited processing license described in our Privacy Policy necessary to operate the Service.
The Service depends on Discord's platform, APIs, and infrastructure, as well as third-party hosting, DNS, and database providers. We are not responsible for downtime, deprecation, rate limits, breaking changes, or policy shifts originating from these dependencies. Features may be adjusted or retired as upstream platforms evolve, and continued compatibility is not guaranteed in perpetuity.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ALTSCAN DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. NO ORAL OR WRITTEN ADVICE OBTAINED FROM ALTSCAN CREATES ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED HEREIN. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, OPERATE WITHOUT INTERRUPTION OR ERRORS, OR REMAIN COMPATIBLE WITH FUTURE VERSIONS OF THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL ALTSCAN, ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES WHATSOEVER — INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES — ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO USE THE SERVICE DURING THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, WHICH IS ZERO AS THE SERVICE IS FREE, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100).
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AltScan and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from or relating to: (a) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms; (b) your violation of any third-party right, including Discord's policies; or (c) your breach of applicable law. We reserve the right, at our own expense, to assume exclusive defense of any matter subject to indemnification, in which case you will cooperate with our reasonable requests.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, for conduct that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, harms other users, abuses the platform, or exposes us to legal or reputational risk. Upon termination, your authorization tokens are revoked and your verified status is deactivated across participating servers. Sections 6, 8, 9, and 10 survive any termination.
You may terminate at any time by (a) revoking the application from your Discord Authorized Apps settings and (b) requesting data deletion from any staff member. No termination fee, penalty, or notice period applies.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the operator's principal jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue therein.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and AltScan regarding the Service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings, communications, and agreements, whether written or oral. Failure to enforce any provision shall not constitute waiver of that or any other provision. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder continues in full force, and the unenforceable provision shall be reformed to the minimum extent necessary to render it enforceable.
